The following core values of Greater Bethel are the basis, essential and vital ways we go about fulfilling our mission: SEEK + DISCIPLE + SERVE! They clarify and compel this ministry in the context of a compassionate and caring church.
We value Headship:
We acknowledge Christ as the Head of the church and submit ourselves and all our
undertakings to His Will (Ephesians 1:22-23).
We value Servant Leadership:
We believe that the church leadership is above all, servants of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We recognize that our leaders are to watch over our souls and that they are Spirit filled (Matthews 20:25-28; Hebrews 13:7).
We value People:
We recognize the eternal value God places on every person and commit ourselves to love
and care for others as we are created in God’s image. We further seek to fulfill Christ’s great commandment to love our neighbors as we love ourselves, and to love one another as Christ loves us (Mark 12:31; John 13:3-35).
We value Bible Centered Preaching/Teaching:
We believe that the Bible is the infallible, inerrant, immutable, authoritative Word of God. We will strive therefore to preach and teach the Bible and the trustworthy rule for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16; 4:2).
We value Evangelism:
We believe that Christ demonstrated His great love for the lost and has commissioned His
church to follow His example of pursuing, winning and making disciples of all men (Luke 19:10; John 20:21; 2 Corinthians 5: 14-20).
We value Authentic Praise & Worship:
We believe that we are created to glorify God and an expression of this is our acknowledgement of His supreme value and worth in our personal lives and in the corporate, contemporary praise and worship of the church (Acts 2:47; Ephesians 5:18-20;
Psalm 150).
We value Tithing/Giving:
We believe Christian should give generously, consistently and proportionately to the local church as God’s instrument to continue His early ministry (Malachi 3:10;
2 Corinthians 9:6-8).
We value Family:
We believe and support the spiritual nurturing of the family as one of God’s dynamic means to carry out the Christian faith (2 Timothy 1:5).
We value Ministry of Excellence:
We recognize and believe God gave His best through His Son Jesus Christ. We seek to honor Him by maintaining a high standard of excellence in our ministries and activities (Colossians 3:23-23).
We value Fellowship/Community:
We believe & recognize the church as a community of believers whose fellowship is enriched by their relationship with Christ and one another. We are committed to assembling ourselves together for worship, fellowship, encouragement and service (Acts 2:42; Hebrews 10: 24-25).
We value Fervent Prayer:
We support and depend on private and corporate prayer of all members, ministries and undertakings of this church (Matthews 7:7-11; James 5:13-18).
